Paradise Valley Bible Camp
Northwest Territories
Our Father’s ‘Children Of The North’

Introduction by Allan and Shirley Clarkson

The camp began as a dream that Jim and Jerilyn Forsyth had for the children of Northwest Territories, the Yukon, and Nunavut.   No local Bible camps were available to the children of the north.  All had to go south to Alberta, B.C., or Saskatchewan.  It was in 2005 that Shirley and I met Jim, and he told us about his dream, and the 10 acres of riverbottom land he had acquired at Paradise Valley on the Hay River. Two years later Jim asked for volunteers to go north and begin setting up the camp.  Six men from Victory Church on the Rock from Grand Prairie went up and did drywalling, painting, plumbing, and roofing on the office and leaders’ cabin. Subsequent years, men went up and built cabins, plumbed-in washrooms and showers, built a chapel, and did follow up work.

For some years now, men and women have gone north to participate in the ongoing development of the Paradise Valley Bible Camp and to work directly with the Children and People of the North.

In summary, I’d like to challenge you, ‘Ask not what God can do for you, but what you can do for God.’  The doors are open. Walk through into the adventure of your life.
