Kid's Church

After the worship time in our  Sunday morning service from September to June , we offer Kid's Church downstairs.

  • Nursery care for babies to age 3

  • Various "stations" for children aged 4 - Grade 7

In Kid's Church, our dream is to ...

W      - win kid's hearts to Jesus, their teachers, and each other

I         - integrate kids into Christian community

N      - nurture kids' growth in a safe environment

E      - equip kids to become passionate disciples of Jesus

S      - send kids into their world to share Jesus

Teachers and Helpers

We have an amazing team of  teachers and helpers who love our great group of children.  Each teacher and helper is expected to complete a criminal check and become familiar with the Kamloops Vineyard Kid's Church Safety Manual.  We prayerfully consider each potential teacher and helper, and ask those interested to fill out a Personal Information Form.  We pray that Kid's Church would be the "safest place on earth," a place where each child can be ministered to with the love of Jesus Christ in a real and tangible way.  To the best of our abilities, we desire to maintain clean, kid-friendly physical environments, healthy and safe emotional environments, and fruit-filled spiritual environments for each child that visits or attends Kid's Church.

Nursery

Nursery care is available for all children under the age of 4  and all our volunteers have undergone a complete criminal check as well.

Child Sponsorship

Our kids donate their spare change to help sponsor 5 year old Michael Malinga from Uganda.

Annual Events

Mother's Day Tea Party

On Mother's Day, the kids celebrate their moms with gifts, tasty treats and tea.  This is also an excellent chance for parents to get familiar with their kids' teachers, the curriculum, and the physical space we use for Kid's Church.  Volunteers are needed to organize this event if it is to take place this year.  Please contact the office if you are willing to work on this.

Year End Party in the Park

Near the end of the school year, we all go to Prince Charles Park and have lots of fun games, crafts, food, and a few surprises.  All ages are welcome and the parents are welcome to join us after the service.

Christmas Brunch

Pancakes and all the fixings are just the beginning of a fun Christmas celebration in December (during the morning church service).  Here, our kids and teens have an opportunity to demonstrate their talents for the whole congregation.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service

For the five weeks prior to Christmas, kids light the advent candles and learn about the true spirit of Christmas.  On December 24th, they light the last candle at the evening candlelight service.  Families join together to celebrate Jesus' birthday with song, prayer, scripture, and even a birthday cake!

Parents Prayer Group

For parents of children of all ages:

God has given us the amazing job of being parents but He never intended for us to do it without Him or without the support of others.  You're invited to be part of a prayer group that will focus on our children and will meet to do battle for their lives.  God has said that "where two or three are gathered in His Name He is there (Matt.18:20)... and that whatever you bind on earth will bound in heaven, whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven (Matt 18:18).  So let's "gather", so God can "bind and loose" in our children's lives.

Vineyard Missions Ministries

NEPAL:

We have an extended family relationship with the Vineyard Church in the Himalayan region of Nepal and Northern India.  Over the years, we have been privileged to partner with twelve Vineyard churches in this geographical area—all of which have been planted within the last ten years.

Over the course of our early involvement with these churches, KVCF’s pastor has visited several remote mountain churches to meet with their leaders and pray for their congregation’s well being.  We have also provided medical supplies and clothing to these remote village congregations,  three of which operate small orphanages.

In more recent years, we have undertaken to contribute to the financial support of Raju, Bawani,  and their little girl, Elizabeth.  Raju is currently the overseer of a church planting project in Kotgoung (a small primarily Hindi village near Kathmandu), as well as co-pastor of the Kathmandu Vineyard, the flagship church of the Himalayan region.

We also assist in providing education opportunities for several members of the Nepal Vineyard community from children to young adults, and are developing a micro-banking arrangement with several small Vineyard churches as well.  These enabling projects are helping our Asian brothers and sisters break free from generations of grinding poverty.

KVCF’s lead pastor visits Nepal and India once a year to teach at the Himalayan Region’s Vineyard Mobile Bible School which is dedicated to the task of equipping Vineyard Church leaders who otherwise would have very little formal theological, pastoral or administrative training.  Pastor Don will return to Nepal in October 2010.

For more information about these exciting mission ministry initiatives talk to Don and Judi Harrison,  Dawn Schlivinsky, and Connie Smith, all whom have seen first hand the work our church family is carrying on in this distant part of the Kingdom.

Himalayan Vineyard Church

KINGDOM FUND:        The Kingdom Fund was established to help alleviate poverty and improve living conditions for the working poor in developing countries (such as the Himalayan regions of Nepal, Northern India, and Thailand) through financial investment, loans and bursaries.   Borrowers use their loans to start or expand a small business or other mode of income generation.  Profits from these businesses help them repay their loans, send their children to school or improve their families' living conditions.

In addition, from time to time, a special need may arise where a charitable grant or donation is required to sustain life, improve living conditions, or access training and education.  In such cases, charitable funds can be made available with no expectation of repayment.

If you would like to play a role in this KVCF  mission's initiative you may do so by contributing to the Kingdom Fund.  Cheques should be made out to:  Kamloops Vineyard Church - The Kingdom Fund.  Donors will receive annual updates on how funds have been applied.
